Die Hard 5 — although many sources claim it will likely end up with the title Die Hard 24/7 — came one step closer to actually happening today. Deadline reports that Fox has officially hired Noam Murro to direct the fifth John McClane adventure. Awesome! …but who exactly is Noam Murro? You’ll find out who he is and what he brings to the table after the jump!
The most surprising thing about the hiring of Noam Murro is that he has only directed one feature film, so he is a relatively fresh face. What makes that even more surprising is that Murro‘s only released film was 2008’s Smart People, a romantic comedy/drama starring none other than Sarah Jessica Parker. Doesn’t sound like someone who would be a good fit for Die Hard, does it? However, reportedly Fox is impressed by Murro‘s short Halo promo film, which you can check out at the end of the post. It’s definitely cool, but it’ll have to convince star Bruce Willis, who actually hasn’t officially signed on to the film yet (although he’s expressed major interest so far).
The script for Die Hard 5 has been written by Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The A-Team) and rumors hint that the film’s villain will have a familiar name (you can check out my report on that here).
