It’s been confirmed for awhile now that there would be another Die Hard film after the success of Live Free or Die Hard. Luckily for us, now we finally have an official title for the fifth and possibly final film in the franchise. The information was released yesterday morning during Jim Rome’s show by Fox Filmed Entertainment’s CEO Tom Rothman.
A Good Day to Die Hard will be the title for the upcoming film which will star Bruce Willis as John McClane once again. But what do we know about the fifth film besides the title and and the main character returning? Check out the goodies below:
- Die Hard 5 will be titled A Good Day to Die Hard
- Shooting begins in January 2012
- The sequel will be released on February 14th, 2013 (Valentine’s Day).
- The story is set in Russia and begins with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail for something he did, but when he gets there, things surrounding his son’s arrest are not as they appear and world-threatening terrorist hi jinks ensue.
- McClane, Jr. has yet to be cast.
- They still don’t know if it will be rated PG-13 or R.
It’s a very interesting approach even though many guessed that this one would take place across the world since it seems like the situations have gradually grown in each film. The son aspect is an interesting one because I don’t remember his son being mentioned in the other films. His daughter was in the last film but there is no word yet if Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be returning for film.
The film is being directed by John Moore and the script was penned by Skip Woods.
