I loved the film Rabies when I saw it not once, but twice, at the Tribeca Film Festival where it made its world premiere two years ago followed by a very successful festival run. The film was dubbed as Israel’s first slasher film and I’m glad to say it did the genre proud.
Since the release of Rabies, the directing duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado have been hard at work on their follow-up feature titled Big Bad Wolves, which was originally titled Satan Lives Within and is currently deep into post production. The film stars some of Israel’s top talent including Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote), Tzachi Grad (The Flood) , Rotem Keinan and Dov Glickman. The poster below, designed by Mysh Rozanov, is the first taste of what we can expect and so far it sets a pretty dark tone. For now you can look over the art but I do know for sure that more will be coming soon on this title, most likely in the form of stills (and hopefully bloody or creepy ones). I’m kind of hoping that this premieres at Tribeca since it is set to be released this year.
A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: The father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings – a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder.
