Relativity has just announced the men who will play the seven dwarfs, along with a few smaller roles, for their upcoming Brothers Grimm version of Snow White. Also they have gone ahead and changed the title of the film to: Untitled Snow White Film (Very clever)
So far we know that directing the film will be Tarsem Singh, with Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as the Prince and Julia Roberts as the Queen. Also just announced today is that Mare Winningham will now play Baker Margaret and Michael Lerner will be Baron.
Here is the synopsis for the film:
In Relativity’s Snow White, a spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale, an evil queen steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.
I was trying to figure out a nice way of showing the dwarfs, so here are head shots to help imagine who the lesser known actors are.
Top left to right: Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Joey Gnoffo and Danny Woodburn
Bottom left to right: Martin Klebba, Ronald Lee Clark, Sebastian Saraceno
I was really shocked not to see Peter Dinklage in the mix here. He has done an amazing job on Game of Thrones and I look forward to more of his work in the future.
We don’t know for sure which dwarf they will play, however, it could be fun to guess in the comments below.
The film has changed theatrical release date and is now set for March 16, 2012, so it won’t have to worry about Universal’s Snow White film later in the year.
