Point Break is a much loved classic from the ’90s, so of course it was going to be remade. The remake was going well with its two leading men, Gerard Butler and Luke Bracey, set to play Johnny Utah and Agent Bodhi, respectively. Then Gerard Butler dropped out of the project leaving a gaping hole to be filled.
Now it seems set to be filled by Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez.
Rumours from ‘in talks’ to ‘deal agreed’ are being thrown around the net, but now it seems set in stone the Zero Dark Thirty actor has agreed to play the role made famous by Patrick Swayze. With only a little bit of experience in Hollywood it’s difficult to judge on how fitting Ramirez is for the part, but with 3 titles coming out before the scheduled 2015 release for Point Break, there’s plenty of time to see.
Point Break will also see Ray Winstone star along side the two leads as Pappas. Point Break is due to start filming in late June.
