For a film that has yet to cast a single member, Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man continues to be the talk/speculation of the town. So what better way to keep the interest going for the highly anticipated film then to possibly have a release date and filming location.
The guys over at LatinoReview.com are back at it again and this time with exclusive information regarding the Ant-Man film. They have received word that the film is expected to be released in 2014 and that production could begin mid 2013 in London. However, before this film can get underway, it’s being reported that Thor: The Dark World will need to complete principle photography. This is exciting news, especially since this will give Wright the time he needs to wrap The World’s End although there could be some overlap between the two films.
The timing is a bit strange and that would mean there would be 4 Marvel films in some sort of stage of production, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man (Agent of Shield?), a first for Marvel but if executed properly, could put them that much further ahead than DC.
So does this mean that Ant-Man is a for sure 2014 release? Not entirely, but the way things are looking and the buzz after the test footage shown during SDCC, I would say this is a real possibility. Not to mention if they do plan to incorporate Ant-Man and maybe Wasp into The Avengers 2, they will need to do it pretty quickly.
While it is still anyone’s guess as to who could potentially take the lead role as Henry Pym (Ant-Man), here is my list of who I think could be in the running.
1. Nathan Fillion
2. Everyone Else
See pretty simple list. I think FIllion would make an awesome Hank Pym, not to mention he has a huge fan base already and is best friends with a man named Joss. Looks like we will be in for a heavy rumored filled winter this year.
