Looks like Vinny Chase and Co will finally be returning to the screen, only this time it’s the big screen. Last night, Deadline reported that Warner Bros. has given the Entourage movie the green light and that now it’s just a matter of time before production is on the way.
It’s been confirmed for some time now that a script had been finished and it’s official that the screenwriter and series creator Doug Ellin will be directing the feature length movie. Deals are currently being worked out with the film’s core talent Adrian Grenier (Vinny chase), Kevin Connolly (Eric Murphy), Kevin Dillon (Johnny Drama), Jerry Ferrara (Turtle) and Jeremy Piven who played Ari Gold. I’d expect that a few other staple characters like Sloan, Billy Walsh, Ari’s wife and Lloyd will return for the film along with some actual Hollywood players playing themselves and getting into ridiculous situations.
I have a feeling production will likely start this fall or winter if all the deals are made in a timely manner, which they should considering most of the talent hasn’t done much expect Jeremy Piven, but even his roles have been far from glamorous as of late.
Last year, I started and completed all eight seasons of the popular show and am actually pretty excited to see the gang get back together after the way the series finale ended. How about you? What are your thoughts on an Entourage movie? Is it a good idea or does the idea of more Vinny Chase make you sick? Let us know in the comments section.
