Hello All! Today we have the extended 6 minute trailer for 2013’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. When the announcement of the remake/reboot was made, many of the fans of the original 1947’s version, starring Danny Kaye, were disappointed. Ears did perk up though when the Dreamworks studio attached Jim Carrey’s name to the project. However, those plans fell through during breaches of contract between companies and the acquisition of Dreamworks by Paramount. Finding the perfect ‘Mitty’ was also challenging. Once Carrey dropped out, the studio began throwing out other actor’s names including Owen Wilson, Mike Myers, and Sasha Baron Cohen. As we can see from the finalized film about to be released, Ben Stiller won the title character. Some are skeptical, some are excited.
Personally, the very long trailer looks very well put together and our own writer Alex saw the film and quite liked it (review here). Let’s just hope the movie can sustain it’s life-affirming message for the entire film. But, you guys tell me: Take a look at the extended trailer below and decide: Yay or Nay?
Day-dreamer Walter Mitty (Stiller) tends to escape his hum-bug life by disappearing into a world of fantasy. Filled with adventures, romance, and heroic ventures, it tends to keep Walter from really trying to take chances in reality. When his co-worker and good friend’s job is at stake due to an important item missing for a major article, Walter decides it’s time to stop zoning out and begins a fantastical journey through reality. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is rated PG, runs 114 minutes, and releases on December 25th, 2013.
