The first ABC’s of Death was a wild ride full of exceptional shorts, extremely terrible efforts and all sorts of combinations of horror absurdity that made it a mostly an interesting anthology film (read my review here). The sequel, ABC’s of Death 2, promises to build upon the first and, hopefully, surpass it in overall quality but manage to be just as twisted, funny and F’up.
An “extreme red band trailer” was released today and it’s actually my first look at the upcoming horror film, and like the first movie, it’s delightfully messed up. It definitely shows off a lot of deaths but just wait until you get near the end and it becomes more perverted, ’cause that’s when it becomes memorable for weird reasons. There are a lot of talented indie horror directors featured in the film so I’m looking to see how they translate their work to a shorter format.
Check out the trailer below but keep in mind it is incredibly NSFW. I’ve also provided the full list of directors below the trailer in case you want to know who’s participating in this go-around.
ABCs of Death 2 will be available on VOD on October 2 and in theaters on October 31st.
ABCs of Death 2 is the follow-up to the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning from Nigeria to UK to Brazil and everywhere in between. It features segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. The film is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet, beginning with the letter A and ending with the letter Z. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and at times confrontational, ABCs of Death 2 is another global celebration of next generation genre filmmaking.
