It’s been almost ten years since 2005’s Fantastic Four arrived on the big screen and it looks like we’ll be getting yet another film franchise to be “re-invented” again. 20th Century Fox has been hard at work, putting together the upcoming Fantastic reboot and scouring the Hollywood circuit, looking for a few 20-somethings to fill those mighty superheroes’ shoes. Lucky for fanboys (and girls), they may have their cast finally set!
With filming to begin in March and 20th Century Fox has casting underway. As of now, the only confirmed actor for the film is Michael B Jordan (Chronicle), who is set to play Johnny Storm. It’s been also confirmed Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Emmy Rossum (Shameless) have went in for test screenings for the character of Susan Storm. Other actors in the running for this superhero flick are Miles Teller (21 & Over) for Reed Richards and Christian Cooke (Cemetery Junction) as The Thing.
The most surprising reveal of all of the casting news is this: Although the studio still plans on using Dr. Victor von Doom as the main villain, the studio is searching for a major (and bankable) actress to fill those shoes rather than a man. With March rapidly closing in, they better hurry up and cast the role…or start taking suggestions.
Fantastic Four is set to be released June 19th, 2015.
