It only took a week of milking our excitement via marketing teasers but we finally have the release of the first full-length trailer for James Mangold’s The Wolverine. Starring Hugh Jackman as everyone’s favorite badass, this film focuses on Wolverine’s attempt to become mortal while also challenging foes in an environment he isn’t used to, Japan. The trailer is pretty cool and I’m loving the Japanese look of it all. We get to see an angry and unstable Wolverine attempting to kick all sorts of ass while finally feeling some pain. Oh, and we finally get a better look at SILVER SAMURAI!!!!!! (played by Will Yun Lee) who I can’t wait to see take on Wolverine in a long and epic battle.
Check out the international trailer below and let us know what you think (and remember, this is not a prequel, it takes place after X-Men: First Class).
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
The Wolverine hits theaters worldwide on July 26, 2013.
