In case you missed it last night, Ellen DeGeneres broke twitter with an epic star-studded selfie at the Oscars and there was also an awards show that honored some of 2013s best films. Though it was an extremely competitive year, there weren’t actually many surprises, the only one really being Spike Jonze winning for best original screenplay (which he deserved). The Act of Killing unfortunately lost best doc to 20 Feet From Stardom, which I loved, but was a little surprising considering the film won every other documentary award.
