And now we have ten! IGN is the lucky source for an image of three more dwarves from The Hobbit. This is a pretty fun way for director Peter Jackson to reveal the principle characters little-by-little. Here we have (from left to right) Bombur, Bofur, and Bifur, and Bombur is easy to recognize as the fattest of the dwarves (as author J.R.R. Tolkien points out numerous times in the novel!)
The actors (also from left to right) are Stephen Hunter, James Nesbitt, and William Kircher. Like all the other releases, this image was accompanied by a blurb about the dwarves:
While most of the Company of Thorin Oakensheild is related to the royal and noble line of Durin, Bofur, his brother Bombur and their cousin Bifur most definitely are … not. Born and bred in the West, descendants of coal miners and iron workers, they have joined the Quest for the Lonely Mountain partly to seek their fortune and partly because they were told the beer was free.”
Sounds like some comic relief, huh? Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur will appear with the rest of the mega-cast in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is set for a December 14, 2012 release and, The Hobbit: There and Back Again. which is set for a December 13, 2013 release.
