Movie Buzzers has been all over the news regarding Snow White & the Huntsman, which was rumored to already have an official lead cast of Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga) as the fairer half of the movie‘s title, Charlize Theron (The Road) as the Evil Queen, and Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises) as the other half of the movie’s title. However, Total Film reports that Mortensen is out and Hugh Jackman (X-Men: Origins) has been offered the part of the Huntsman.
Jackman could be perfect for the part because he is “already fit as a fiddle and the perfect embodiment of the fairytale character.” The actor’s schedule seems a little bit more free since The Wolverine has no director since Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) has dropped out of the comic book project.
Monsters & Critics adds that production for Snow White & the Huntsman is slated to begin later this year, but IMDB lists no other actors officially involved in the film. This, of course, is not to be confused with Tarsem Singh’s The Grimm Brothers: Snow White (starring The Blind Side’s Lily Collins and Eat Pray Love’s Julia Roberts) or Francis Lawrence’s Snow White & the Seven.
What do you think of Jackman’s potential involvement in this project? Can you picture someone else taking over the role? We want to know, so share your comments below!
