Deadline is reporting that Hugh Jackman is in discussion to take part in the 1966 remake, Fantastic Voyage, with Shawn Levy (Real Steel) set to direct.
Again this is just a report and nothing is finalized yet and probably won’t be until Jackman knows something about The Wolverine, which is in limbo right now while they find a new director.
The remake, which was written by Shane Salerno, is about a scientist who is dying of a blood clot. His only chance for survival is for five scientist colleagues to be miniaturized in a ship, and injected into his bloodstream.
Now this is slightly different from the 1966 version that was directed by Richard Fleischer and starred Stephen Boyd and Raquel Welch. In the 1966 version, a diplomat is nearly assassinated and a team of scientist must be shrunk and injected into the diplomat’s body.
The film is loosely set to hit theaters sometime in 2013.
