With all the latest advancements in social networking, I know I’m glad that I’m not a teenager, but in the latest movie, LOL, Demi Moore’s (Margin Call) character is stunned at the gap in communication with her teenaged daughter, played by Miley Cyrus (The Last Song).
The movie which also stars Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga), Thomas Jane (Hung), Douglas Booth (Romeo & Juliet), and Gina Gershon (P.S. I Love You) is written and directed by Lisa Azuelos, who was behind the 2008 French version of the same name.
Collider recently shared images from the movie, along with this plot synopsis: “In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes and Facebook, Lola (Cyrus) and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola’s mom, Anne (Moore), “accidentally” reads her teenage daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. Through hilarious and heartfelt moments between mother and daughter, LOL is a fresh coming-of-age story for modern times.”
The movie is set for a limited May 4th release. Check out the images below that tell the story of how new technology that is supposed to help us reach people more conveniently pushes some of us further apart.
