Ewan McGregor (Ghost Writer) and Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau) star in the movie version of Paul Torday‘s novel, Salmon Fishing in Yemen. Perhaps the title could use some work, but it’s an adaptation by Oscar winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) and directed by Lass Hallstrom (Dear John).
According to the TIFF website, “Ewan McGregor stars as a fisheries scientist who finds himself saddled with the task of introducing salmon fishing to the Highlands of Yemen. Director Lasse Hallström adapts this charming British comedy from Paul Torday’s acclaimed novel.”
McGregor plays Fred Jones, and Blunt is Harriet Chetwode-Talbot. Also starring in the film is Kristin Scott Thomas (Nowhere Boy) as Bridget Maxwell. The movie is set to premiere February 16, 2012. Take a look at some images below from the film, courtesy of TIFF yet again.
