Many people haven’t heard of the film In Time which stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. I for one was one of those people prior to Comic-Con and then out of nowhere In Time comes in and blows everyone away during it’s panel.
I would try and explain the film, but the official synopsis does a much better job than I could:
Hitting theaters on October 28, In Time presents a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there’s a catch: you’re genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich “earn” decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man (Timberlake) from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage (Seyfried). Living minute to minute, the duo’s love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system.
Now what this synopsis doesn’t tell you is that Justin Timberlake’s character actually inherits this “rich” man’s time who is tired of living. The police think that Timberlake murdered the guy for his time and has to then prove his innocence by going on the run.
The film is being directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) and also features Cillian Muphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matthew Bomer.
This film probably ended up being one of my top 3 most anticipated films after leaving Comic-Con and I can’t wait for it to hit theaters. Check out the second trailer and Comic Con reel below.
