Surprisingly, there hasn’t been much news from the set of David Fincher’s adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best selling novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. All we’ve gotten so far are a few pictures of Rooney Mara as the lead character, Lisbeth Salander, and a plot synopsis to go with it. Well as the December 21st release date slowly approaches, something was bound to be released and it looks like its in the form of a Red Band Trailer (which has just bee leaked online).
After watching the 100 second trailer, I have to say I’m quite impressed with the footage I saw. Although we didn’t get many looks at Salander, we got a very detailed look at the world and style of the film and it seems to be a pretty faithful adaptation of the novel (which you should read if you haven’t done so already). The trailer is set to an awesome Led Zeppelin Kashmir cover and, not only does it set the tone, but it really establishes this trailer as one of the best of 2011 thus far.
While I’m still getting over Mara’s face, which doesn’t match Lisbeth’s description in the novel, I still have a feeling she is going own this role and go down in the film history books for a job well done. I’m even more curious to see how she matches up against Noomi Rapace’s performance in the Swedish adaptation of the film.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of it.
