If you would’ve told me when I started writing for Movie Buzzers a year and a half ago that I would have the opportunity to have a phone interview with a Muppet, I wouldn’t have believed you. I mean, when you conduct a phone interview with a Muppet I’d assume you’re not talking to a puppet since you can’t actually see them. But then again you’re not exactly speaking with the puppeteer, either, so you don’t even know what type of questions to ask (“What’s it like being made out of felt?”). But nonetheless this afternoon I got to speak with Walter, the latest addition to the zany puppet crew created by Jim Henson decades ago. Walter, who joins Jason Segal and Amy Adams and long time favorites like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Animal in The Muppets, spoke to me about joining his childhood heroes, which Muppet was the hardest to work with, his favorite song and guest star in the movie, and, of course, the unforgettable cameo made by Walter’s human form.
Special Thanks to Disney, Walter, and some guy named Peter Linz, who sounds an awful lot like Walter…
The Muppets is now playing at theaters everywhere. It was fantastic, and you can check out my review here.
