As much as I’m not looking forward to yet another film in which we hear about evil Wall Street fat-cats (hell, even The Dark Knight Rises got in on the act), I’m always up for a Martin Scorsese movie, especially ones set in New York City (can you believe it has been ten years since Scorsese made a movie set in New York?). So I’m nonetheless looking forward to The Wolf of Wall Street, which gets even more interesting with each casting announcement.
The latest from Deadline is that actor/director Jon Favreau is set to star as a securities lawyer, though nothing else is known about the role. What is known is that Favreau will be joining Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Jay Bernthal, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kenneth Choi, Justin Wheelon, and Cristin Milioti (who is wonderful in Broadway’s Once) in the real-life story of stockbroker Jordan Belfort’s 1990s securities fraud scandal. The movie is set for a 2013 release.
