Spike Lee’s remake of the Korean thriller, Oldboy, has started unveiling its project to the public through its (very cool) new poster which you can check out below.
Oldboy is one of the most critically acclaimed films to come out of Asia and will star Josh Brolin as the lead, a man who is kidnapped and locked away for years without explanation only to be released and given 5 days to find his captor. US remakes of Asian classics very rarely translate well, could Spike Lee be the man to change this trend? The remake follows almost exactly the same plot as the original (20 years now instead of 15) and will of course be met with its doubters and critics upon it’s US release on 11th October 2013.
