Looks like the wheels are finally spinning again for Jurassic Park 4 as The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the film will be released on June 13, 2014 in 3D and that Steven Spielberg is not set to direct the picture.
This announcement came shortly after word got out that Spielberg’s Robopocalyse was being delayed so even though he is only listed as a producer on the film, it is still possible that he could come aboard and direct the fourth installment in the popular franchise.
The film will be shot in native 3D which, while preferable, is not something I actually care about since I would rather watch it in 2D. The script for the new film was written by Rise of the Planet of the Apes scribes, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, so I’m hoping we get something really interesting out of this eagerly anticipated dinosaur flick.
I’m happy things are moving again on this project as it’s the only live-action franchise with dinosaurs that’s actually worth watching these days.
