Earlier I posted about Warner Bros. hiring Will Beall to pen a Justice League script, something many have tried and all have failed to do. Today Mark Miller has spoken out about the script and has an interesting insight on what we could possibly expecxt from Beall.
Miller said he spoke with a firend who is friends with Beall and discussed the feel for the movie and discussed the script a bit. While the script is probably far from completed, its a bit interesting to know that it is far enough along that Miller is hearing about it. With this news, we also learned that Beall was actually hired by WB over a year ago to work on the script but it was more of a secret until now. SO unless there is some drastic changes between now and if and when shooting begins, it sounds like we might have a Justice League along the lines of The Dark Knight.
Here is the exact comment Miller made on his forum Millar World:
A pal of mine is good friends with the new Justice League screenwriter and said his take on the team is incredible. Very real-world and not at all what you might expect. WB has a chequered history with their superhero characters. They’re great with their boy wizards, but less consistent with their DC stable. But my chum said that this could be a thing of beauty and has been in the works for a little while now, not just an avengers knock-off. Best of luck to them. The tidbits I heard sound quite dark and mature, which isn’t what I expected. But word on Gangster Squad is great too so I feel this is in really good hands.
Again this is all speculations and the typical well my friend knows a guy who nows someone that did this type thing so anything is possible. I remember back when Green Lantern was announced it was suppose to have a darker feel to it as well, and we all know how that turned out. Let’s just hope Beall and WB know what they are doing with this script and can turn something of quality out of it.
