Kevin Smith has announced that he will be auctioning off props from his previous movies to help finance the distribution cost for his upcoming horror film Red State.
In all there will be 341 items up for auction on April 10th at the Pasadena Garden Center with the auction set to start around 11 a.m. The good thing is, if you don’t live in the area you can register online with Propworx’s partner site Live Auctioneers and have an opportunity to win some of the prized possessions. The online catalog is available for $35 or you can buy a signed copy for $50 through Propworx
There are a few items that we do know will be up for auction in the “Kevin Smith Sells Out” auction:
Bartleby’s Angel Wings and Torso Armor from Dogma, worn by actor Ben Affleck, original comic art from Green Arrow, Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, Bluntman & Chronic, Jay and Silent Bob, and Clerks. Also if you are a Jay and Silent Bob fan you might be interested in the original Bluntman costume Smith wore in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
I want to commend Kevin Smith for staying strong in what he believes in and doing this film all on his own. I am very excited about Red State and can’t wait to see the film when it’s released October 19th.
