The first part of the headline is something we have know for quite some time now. Kevin Smith announced awhile back that his last film will be Hit Somebody before he retires from the film industry. Will he really stay retired? Only time will tell, but Smith is making sure he has options line up to keep his name out there.
Recently, AMC put out a press release that indicated they were going to be looking into more unscripted shows. The network has been on a role lately with Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, so why not spice things up and potentially add a Kevin Smith reality show to it?
Smith wants to do a Pawn Stars like show, but base it out of his personal comic book shop, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash in Red Bank, NJ. Casting has already started for the film but nothing is a definite yet. AMC is the only network we know that has shown interest in the show, but that doesn’t mean it will air on it. Here are the press releases and casting calls for the show.

The show sounds really interesting and as a fan of Pawn Stars, I would totally watch this show if it makes it to air. The only issue I see with the show however, is that AMC doesn’t seem like the proper fit for it. The show needs to be picked up by G4 or SyFy where more of the” fanboy-geek” crowd watches, since ultimately this is who the show is for.
I really hope this show gets a shot. Comment below if this is something that interests you!
