For the past three years, Paramount has consistently churned out a new Paranormal Activity flick each October to scare the crap out of audiences but this year they dropped they ball and have decided to skip 2013 altogether.
We knew there was a Latino spin-off coming for quite some time but now that has been both dated and give the name Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. It is set to hit theaters on January 3, 2014, a date when the bottom feeding horrors love to get premiered even though it was originally set to release in October which has now been taken by the new Jackass: Bad Grandpa film. The film is directed by Christopher Landon who has also penned all of the sequels.
The actual sequel for the film that continues somewhere in the current franchise’s storyline, Paranormal Activity 5, is now going to be released in time for Halloween in 2014 on October 24th.
There isn’t exactly much to comment on here, I just hope they find a way to make these movies truly scary again and find a way to bring a new twist to both the storytelling and scare tactics.
