Please check out my review of The Ledge here.
In this race-against-time thriller, the opposing philosophies of two men embroiled in a complicated love triangle with a beautiful woman (Liv Tyler) escalate into a lethal battle of wills. Ultimately, the believer (Patrick Wilson) forces the non-believer (Charlie Hunnam) onto the ledge of a tall building. He gives him one hour to make a choice between his own life and someone else’s, while a policeman (Terrence Howard) tries to convince him to come down from the ledge.
Without faith in an afterlife, will he be capable of such a sacrifice? The Ledge is a nuanced character study of love and conviction that will force you to ask how far you’d be willing to go for what you believe in.
Liv Tyler enters and she comments on how meeting people at a roundtable interview is such a unique experience. She’s very lovely and kind as the questions begin.
She’s asked what about the character of Shana she responded to. She explains that she “I was very intrigued by the characters and their flaws and all the things that they were sort of going through.”
This film will be released in theaters, but is also available on VOD (Video On Demand). Her comment, “Well it’s interesting because a lot of these films might not get made if they weren’t made in that form. And so that’s great because a lot of these interesting projects are getting to actually happen which I really enjoy and it was really fun for me to make this and to make Super because I think the last film I had done before that was The Hulk. And then I’d taken a year off and I hadn’t worked, it was really interesting to instead of, on The Hulk we could go to double time and triple time and shoot for 24 hours if we wanted to and had sort of all the money in the world to some extent. So to make a movie like this where everyone is in it for the passion of the project in a way, it’s kind of thrilling a way too to think, okay, you’ve got this much money, these people, and this many days. Go. There’s a thrill in that, to sort of test yourself in that way and see what you can get done.”
She doesn’t have anything set for future release at this time.
The Ledge is in theaters in limited release in New York and L.A. on July 8th and currently available on Video On Demand.
