While the dust is starting to settle on all that went down at San Diego Comic Con, I’m still working on digesting all of the news, pictures, trailers and more that were released over the four day marathon. Since I didn’t attend the Con I can’t report on a majority of the footage that was shown, but thankfully some of the studios released some of their goods on the net for films that I’ve been looking forward to. One of those films is George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy in the titular role with Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult in supporting roles.
While I’ve been looking forward to this film for a while, it feels like it’s been in production for ages (the first official still was released in September of 2013!) and isn’t set to be released until May 15, 2015. That being said, I can finally relax because WB has uploaded their Comic Con footage to the net. The Comic-Con first look, which is really a full length trailer, was released and it looks stunning. The film captures the vast, gritty, post-apocalyptic essence of the prior Mad Max films while introducing a new badass actor in the lead role, showcasing potentially crazy action sequences and what looks like an epic car chase that needs to be seen in IMAX to be truly appreciated.
If you’re a Mad Max fan then you need to check this trailer out, I’ll leave it at that.
Mad Max: Fury Road also stars Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
