Nobody said making a Superman film is easy.
Superhero Hype reports that Warner Bros. is pushing back the release of Man of Steel from December 2012 to June 14, 2013. There was no specific reason given, but the script has faced numerous rewrites lately, according to Bleeding Cool. That report suggests that Batman Begins writer David Goyer‘s original script has been worked on by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, brother of Christopher Nolan) and Kurt Johnstad (300 and its upcoming sequel). That could be the chief cause of the delay.
On the other hand, the film’s original date resulted in it facing stiff December 2012 competition from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Lone Ranger, and Django Unchained. Currently there aren’t any films scheduled for June 14, 2013, with the stiffest June 2012 competition coming from Pixar’s Monsters Inc. sequel.
Whenever it is released, Man of Steel will feature Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Kevin Costner (Pa Kent), Diane Lane (Ma Kent), Michael Shannon (General Zod), Antje Traue (Faora), and Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond as Superman’s Kryptonian parents. It will be by directed by (300, Watchmen).
