We knew it was a matter of time before Melissa McCarthy would become the next sought after film comedian after her stellar performance in Bridesmaids earlier this year. Since the film has been out, we haven’t heard much about McCarthy and future film plans, but that has now changed.
The Hollywood Report released the news that McCarthy and Super 8‘s Ryan Lee would be starring as a mother son combo in Judd Apatow‘s Untitled film, set for 2012. So far the film stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann (no shocker there). This is believed to be the Knocked Up spin off that has been floating around recently rumored to be called, This is Forty.
The description of McCarthy’s role is a little bleak, she will play a mother at the school where Rudd and Mann’s kids attend and not much more is known. In case you don’t remember Ryan Lee from Super 8, he was the pyro who wanted to blow everything up.
The film is scheduled for release December 21, 2012.
