Check out the all new Donnie Yen Historical epic, The Lost Bladesman, has just wrapped up production and two photos have surfaced giving us our first glimpse of the film. Although Donnie is not in either of the images I am still impressed by the photos due to the coloring. Most Chinese epics are either very plain or extremely colorful whereas these images are very strictly white, I can’t tell if the pictures are supposed to be during winter or in the desert but either way they look great and set an interesting tone for the film. These images aren’t brand new and happened to slip under my radar so if you have seen them already, don’t get your panties in a bundle. anyway, check them out after the jump.
According to IMDB, The Lost Bladesman tells the story of Guan Yu’s (Donnie Yen) life where he was held captive by warlord Cao Cao (Jiang Wen) and went on a journey by horse to face various obstacles and behead several generals along the way.
The key thing is that while Guan is a real historical figure this story is completely fictitious. The images come courtesy of SINA

The film stars Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, and Alex Fong Chung Sun. It is directed by Alan Mark and Felix Chung, the guys who brought us the award winning Overheard. Felix also brought us the amazing Infernal Affairs; you know the movie which The Departed is based off of.
