As you may know, some of us here at the site are a big fan of pop-culture art such as the prints Mondo posters is famously known for. I personally own four prints at the moment, all superhero based, but that is all about to change (hopefully). For those of you who share the same love of film based art and also happen to live in NY, the presitigous gallery known as Gallery 1988 will be bringing their ‘Crazy 4 Cult’ pop culture art show to New York, titled Crazy 4 Cult New York .
The show will feature work from over 200 artists making it a pretty expansive and interesting show. If you want to check it out, the gallery will be open from August 9th to September 1 from 6-9 PM at 64 Gansevoort St. (between Greenwich and Washington St).
All I know is that I’ve taken a look at some of the art that will be on display (courtesy of Slashfilm) and I have a feeling that if any of the prints like the one on the left (Tom Whalen) I’m going to end up spending a lot more money than I should.
