Oh how I loved my first New York Comic Con. Not only did I get to meet some awesome people but I got to attend some great panels/screenings like the one for Nick Swardson’s new show on Comedy Central called Pretend Time.
Let me state first and foremost that if you like Nick Swardson or sketch comedy you need to watch this on Tuesday. The show breaks boundaries, skips the audience interaction stuff, and if simply hysterical in all facets of the game. While I’d love to keep talking about the show, it’s the content of the panel that I really want to share with you. After the jump you will find a preview of his new show as well as details and a video which sheds light on the status of a Grandma’s Boy sequel and Nick’s newest film, Born to be a Star.
I highly recommend watching the video below because it is very funny, but if you don’t have time here are the quick facts.
- -There is no Grandma’s Boy sequel in the works or even being talked about. Unless there is a really good script that comes their way, the team will not be making a second film.
-Here’s a fun fact, Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) was originall supposed to play the game developer JP before his agent screwed up which resulted in Joel Moore playing the robot dude.
-Lastly, Nick gives a comedic synopsis of his latest film, Born to be a Star, but here is the official synopsis in case you don’t watch the video.
A small-town nerd stumbles upon a family secret. His quiet and demure parents were famous porn stars in the 1970s. This motivates him to leave Northern Iowa for Hollywood, hoping to follow in their footsteps and fulfill his destiny as the biggest adult-film star in the world.
The film will be released on April 22, 2011.
