Recently, there have been a few different photos floating around showing what to expect from Ashton Kutcher in the Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS. While we know Kutcher will be donning the black turtleneck and jeans, we finally have our first official photo of Kutcher as Apple founder and pioneer Steve Jobs in his younger years, and it’s a bit more colorful.
We know the two men have similar features, but after seeing the photo, I’m not really seeing much of Jobs as I’m seeing Kutcher with a beard. Not really sure what to expect from the film but then again this is just a photo and for all I know the film could be amazing…or it could be a total flop.
The film did just get added to the Sundance Film Festival as the closing piece, so we should have a good indication as to what we can expect from jOBS on January 27th. Depending on the reception of the film, distribution information will be released along with a release date (though Canadian rights have already been acquired).
jOBS / U.S.A. (Director: Joshua Michael Stern, Screenwriter: Matt Whiteley) — The true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history, jOBSchronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. jOBS is a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently. Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons, Matthew Modine. (via Sundance)
It should also be mentioned that this isn’t the only Steve Jobs biopic in the works. Director Aaron Sorkin is currently working on his own Jobs film but as oppose to being a true biopic, it will focus more on his major milestones and the conferences that his products were released (Mac, iPod, etc.). I really hope one of these films touch upon in great detail Jobs’ involvement with Pixar and how he helped mold that company into what it is today.
