We originally got a first (rather uninteresting) look at Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood‘s J. Edgar back in February, but since then the film has been completed and bumped up to a 2011 release (because Eastwood is the man and gets his films done early and under-budget). So it’s about time that Warner Bros. starts promoting the film. So finally we have the first official photos of DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover and Naomi Watts as his secretary of fifty-four years, Helen Gandy from The Hollywood Reporter. It definitely has the period look down (although, if I’m not mistaken, DiCaprio‘s brown contacts are a bit freaky), and I’m a huge Eastwood fan so I’m really looking forward to this.
Eastwood‘s J. Edgar is set for a November 9 release with Ed Westwick as Agent Smith, Armie Hammer as Hoover’s alleged lover Clyde Tolson, Josh Lucas as Charles Lindburgh, Ken Howard as U.S. attorney General Harlan F. Stone, and Judi Dench as Anne Marie Hoover. The script was written by Dustin Lance Black (Milk).
