Stop the press, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are re-teaming for a new comedy about two old guys trying to get an internship at Google after finding out that their sales jobs have become obsolete in the digital age. Real Steel director Shawn Levy‘s The Internship takes the great chemistry of the Wedding Crashers duo and pits it against smart ass college students as they try to battle their way into a Google internship. It’s honestly not a bad idea and one that is supported by a pretty good cast consisting of Rose Byrne, John Goodman, Jessica Szohr, Dylan O’Brien, and B.J. Novak.
The trailer below is pretty entertaining and if it doesn’t include all the best jokes I think Fox will have a pretty fun flick on their hands that I’d be eager to see. I love the Professor Xavier gag even if it might not be so realistic and everything else in the trailer seems promising. Check it out below and let us know what you think and if you’re excited to see these two comedic forces together again.
The Internship opens June 7th.
Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship at Google, along with a battalion of brilliant college students. But, gaining entrance to this utopia is only half the battle. Now they must compete with a group of the nation’s most elite, tech-savvy geniuses to prove that necessity really is the mother of re-invention.
