Al Pacino and Brian DePalma have joined forces once again on a project sure to get people’s attention—the story of football coach Joe Paterno, called Happy Valley.
Paterno was one of the most successful coaches in college football history, but fell from grace after it was revealed that he was aware that defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was molesting children. Edward Pressman, producer of Wall Street, optioned the book Paterno and Dave McKenna is in negotiations to write the script. The book is about the psychological makeup of Paterno as well as the controversial events so it looks to have the potential to be a truly wonderful and deft film. And with Pacino involved, you know the acting will be phenomenal. More news as it develops.
