We haven’t reported much on Star Wars Episode VII for the simple fact that every other website is reporting ever tiny, minute detail of the upcoming J.J. Abrams sequel and it just gets tiring seeing it everywhere, even if I am a big fan of the franchise. That being said, I can’t help but get excited about this little bit of casting news. According to THR, Peter Mayhew is returning to reprise his role as the one-and-only Chewbacca.
Yes, the man from the original trilogy donning the hairy suit is once again going to be playing everyone’s favorite wookie. The real question is, will he just be voicing Chewbacca or will he be wearing the suit as well? He’s getting up there in age so I’m wondering if they’ll have someone else wear the suit and he’ll just contribute his voice. All we know right now is that Star Wars has officially begun filming and that he is supposedly on set. As long as they don’t digitize Chewie I’ll be happy.
