Right about now Clint Eastwood would probably have been getting ready to promote his remake of A Star is Born starring Beyonce if she hadn’t gotten pregnant and had a baby, which called off those plans. Instead, Eastwood took a well-deserved break from directing and agreed to star in Trouble With the Curve, the first film directed by Eastwood’s longtime collaborator Robert Lorenz (he’s worked on many of Eastwood’s films as a producer and/or assistant director). Entertainment Weekly has the first two photos from the film.
In the film Eastwood stars as an aging baseball scout whose vision is failing, so he brings his daughter (Amy Adams) with him on a scouting trip. The rest of the cast includes John Goodman, Justin Timberlake, and Matthew Lillard. To be honest, these pictures don’t reveal much, but it’s nice to see Eastwood back in front of the camera for the first time since 2008’s Gran Torino. But, uh, come back to directing soon, Mr. Eastwood. You’re one of the best ones out there.
Trouble with the Curve opens in theaters on September 28.
