Shock til you Drop has an awesome new promo poster for Rob Zombie‘s next film, The Lords of Salem. The film is in its second week of filming which means we will have to wait a few more months for a trailer. In the meantime, we do have promo art to keep the public interested and guessing.
The poster pretty much speaks for itself and looks like the typical Zombie artwork. Now I won’t lie, I was not sure what the first word meant so I was forced to Google it and found that Heretic is a form of Heresy which means, “a controversial or novel change to a system of beliefs, especially a religion, that conflicts with established dogma.” Pretty interesting and it goes along with the next words Witch and Devil.
Here is a brief synopsis of the film:
Heidi, a blond rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team.”
A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lord’s record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.
Later, White plays the Lord’s record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.
The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon, Heidi and her cohorts are far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting. The original Lords or Salem are returning and they’re out for blood
So far the reaction to the synopsis have been mixed, I for one look forward to the film and hope it matches the greatness of The Devil’s Rejects, which is hands down Zombie’s best film thus far (If you don’t believe me, watch it again).
The film stars Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Davidson, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree and Barbara Crampton.
