Originally it was assumed that the first trailer for the J.J. Abrams sequel, Star Trek into Darkness, would play next weekend when The Hobbit was set to hit theaters and the trailer would hit the web the next da, most likelyy. Well things have changed and it seems we will be getting that trailer much sooner than expected, as in the next few days.
Simon Pegg just took to twitter to announce that the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer will debut online this Thursday as opposed to next week in theaters. This is a bit of a shocker considering they usually like to hold major trailers like this ’til after people have seen it in theaters, but who’s going to complain about that! Here is Pegg’s actual tweet:
@SimonPegg:
Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. Premieres online, this Thursday. Get ready to boldly go again.
Short and sweet with not a whole lot of detail. Not sure if Pegg was suppose to announce this or if the studio wanted to send out a press release regarding the announcement, but at this point we have not received one. I’m expecting it to come in sometime today or tomorrow with hopefully a more detailed synopsis and also a time when the trailer will be released on Thursday.
Be sure to check back for updates regarding the press release and also to come back on Thursday for your first look at Star Trek Into Darkness!
