Last week, Movie Buzzers sent Sebastian Rea to a special NY screening of Jay Roach’s new political comedy, The Campaign, where he got to chat with Jay Roach, Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis and a few other people on the red carpet. Below you’ll find a few of the highlights.
Director Jay Roach talked about politics in film, how movies can initiate social change, he touches on his other projects and how he’d like to be Will or Zach’s campaign manager.
Screenwriter of The Campaign, Chris Henchy, had a few words to say about who he would vote for along with how the film reflects today’s political environment:
Will Ferrell said there are no updates on an Old School sequel:
Old school 2? [surprised] Uhh, No. Not that I know of
Zach Galifianakis informed us that at the moment he has nothing lined up after The Hangover 3
No, I don’t think so. I don’t have anything lined up.
We also caught up with Jon Hamm who talked about being unemployed and his thought on people suggesting he should play Bruce Wayne if they remade Batman.
I’m actually working on nothing right now… I’m sort of unemployed, which is nice.
[In response to Batman] Ha! I think everyone wants to see a really old dude flopping around in a suit. No, no no that’s not my bait of work.
As for details of the entire night, the screening was held at the Sunshine Landmark theater and party was held at Sons of Essex, both of which were hosted by Svedka, who had these nifty red, white and blue vodka bottles that I got to drink from, so thanks to them for allowing me to attend the screening and party with some great people.
