Funny girl Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation) made a splash on screen this year in Safety Not Guaranteed, and her latest film, The To Do List, promises to show her leading lady status with the sharp-tongued deadpan humor that we love about her. Written and directed by Maggie Carey (Funny or Die), Plaza plays an awkward teenager who realizes that she’s missed out on the typical sexcapades experienced by her peers and makes a list of what she’d like to accomplish before she begins college.
The red-band teaser trailer shows an ensemble cast of familiar, young faces, which is seemingly perfect to keep the laughs coming, including Alia Shawkat (Whip It), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Pitch Perfect), Donald Glover (Community), Andy Samberg (That’s My Boy), Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), Rachel Bilson (Hart of Dixie), Scott Porter (Hart of Dixie), Johnny Simmons (Jennifer’s Body), and Sarah Steele (Spanglish). Also on board are Connie Britton (American Horror Story) and Clark Gregg (The Avengers) as Plaza’s parents.
Here’s a look at the trailer, which gives new, refreshing meaning to the clichéd sex comedy. The film is set to premiere on Valentine’s Day of next year, that’s February 14th for those of you who need the reminder.
