Robot & Frank made a big splash last year at the Sundance Film Festival and, after seeing the film, I completely understood why people loved the Langella-Susan Sarandon picture. Director Jake Schreier and writer Chris Ford made a unique film about a grumpy old man and former thief seeing a new reason to live after being given a robot to help him around the house. The duo have just sold an interesting pitch to Treehouse Pictures that I think fans of theirs will love and will hopefully bring in new fans as well.
According to Deadline, “the untitled film is an action-packed love story set in the world left behind after everyone becomes addicted to the Internet.” This idea builds off their previous effort by focusing on a slightly altered reality that actually seems plausible.
Keep an eye out for this one later down the road, maybe we’ll see it sometime next year.
