Following the footsteps of fellow hard rock star Rob Zombie, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity due to his appearances in the Guitar Hero games and a recent solo album, has decided to pony up some of that new cash flow to start a new venture: Slasher Films. Find out about Slasher Films’ first project after the jump.
As you might expect by the name, Slasher Films will be producing horror films, with an emphasis on replicating the genre’s finest films of the 70s and 80s. The studio’s first film will be Nothing to Fear, about a family who moves to Kansas only to find a demon in their new home waiting to torture them. Sounds a bit like Amityville Horror on a farm, but then again, it’s just a one sentence synopsis. The screenplay is by newcomer Jonathan W.C. Mills, who has yet to have a film released but has two other projects in development (Brutal and Inside Passage).
I know my Movie Buzzers colleagues love them some horror, but what do you think, readers? Let us know below!
