So once again I felt like I should subject myself to sit in on the final Twilight Panel. Why I subject myself to these things, I will never know, however I am here and know there is a huge fan following so I figured I would treat everyone to what has been going on during the panel.
The panel consisted of your typical members:, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart , and creator Stephanie Meyer. Also attending the panel was Bella and Edward’s child Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy, The Cullen Clan which consisted of Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser. Also, at the end of the panel, they brought out a bunch of people from the different Vampire Clans in the film but there were so many I had no clue who they were.
The panel opened with everyone getting a glimpse of the opening sequence for Breaking Dawn Part 2. Basically there wasn’t much to see besides Bella realizing her new powers and then having to hunt for food and trying to resist human blood. Was it exciting, sure, if you are a fan of the film other wise it was nothing special. Besides that there really wasn’t much to the panel. It was more of a farewell to everyone more than about information about the film.
I don’t know what it is about Twilight fans, but they ask the worst questions when it comes to the fan Q&A. They all asked the same questions which consisted of “are you sad the series is over?” and “what was your favorite part about the film.” Come on people, lets ask some hard hitting questions like will Pattinson and Stewart do another film together? or will Lautner ever learn how to act. Sadly we are left with no such questions. Meyer did say however that she doesn’t plan on visiting the vampire genre any time soon so fans hoping for another book were pretty disappointed.
About the only decent thing that cam from the panel was that at the end, we were shown about 5 minutes of footage from Meyers other book/film The Host, which features Saoirse Ronan. While I don’t know anything about the book or what the story is, the film looked OK. The clips they showed jumped around so it was hard to grasp what it was we were seeing and what exactly was going on. What I was able to gather, Ronan’s character is on the run from some sort of governmental agency who is trying to catch her and her brother. Ronan has a “twin” that can read her mind and see what it is she is up to and thinking. Strange concept and confusing, but might have some potential.
