The big news this week is that British actor Sean Harris is being touted for the lead villain role in the next Mission Impossible film.
Harris is a fantastic actor who has been slowly chipping away in British film and TV earning all the plaudits that have been coming his way. Suffice to say, the past two years have been quite explosive for him.
The London born actor recently won his first BAFTA for best actor in his role in the Channel 4 drama Southcliffe, set around the events of a mass shooting in a small town.
Harris’ career is filled with villainous roles as he seems naturally attuned to go dark and evil, and the lead villain in Mission Impossible 5 would be yet another stepping stone for Harris’ ever-rising career. Negotiations are still on going but Harris is said to be Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions top choice for the role. Tom Cruise will return as the film’s lead Ethan Hunt, while Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton are all set to return too.
You can next see Harris in the upcoming British War-drama ’71 and American drama Serena alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
