With his buddy Jonah Hill staring in 21 Jump Street set to release next year, Seth Rogen feels the need to also jump into the spy genre and is set to produce and potentially start in a film called The B Team.
Variety is reporting that the spy comedy was originally pitched back in 2008 to Walt Disney Pictures by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman. At the time, the title was in question due to 20th Century Fox’s film adaptation of the television series The A-Team and the Sony project, also titled The B Team, which later became the Adam McKay comedy The Other Guys.
The plot seems to be pretty straight forward, a top-level spy (Rogen?) who, after getting kidnapped, has to be rescued by his second-tier support team.
Has a lot of potential but could also be made into a very cheesy film. Once more plot information becomes available, it should be easier to tell which direction the film will head.
