There are a lot of cool films being released over the next two months, some of which I have already reported on (like Yakuza Weapon) and some that I am about to report on like the ones in the title, so grab a pen and take notes, because you won’t want to miss some of these titles.

The next title on my list is a Chilean action flick titled Mandrill who they say is “cooler than Shaft, hotter than Bond, and faster than Lee.” I’ve never heard of this film as it debuted before I really got into the heart of foreign films, but now that I know about it, this is exciting news. The movie stars Marko Zaror, who took home the top acting honors at Austin’s 2009 Fantastic Film Fest, and Alejandro Castillo. The Fantastic Fest Best Film winner is being released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 28th by Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet label.
The bonus features includes a behind the scenes featurette and the International Trailer.
Antonio’s parents were murdered when he was a child. As an adult, he is transformed into a relentless bounty hunter,code-named “Mandrill,” with the sole aim of finding the murderer and avenging his parents. Mandrill’s only weakness has always been women, so he asks his uncle, a “Don Juan” expert, to instruct him in the arts of seduction. When Mandrill is hired to capture a powerful Mafioso casino owner,he soon discovers that this is the man who he has searched for all these years. But upon meeting Dominique, the beautiful daughter of the casino owner, begins an impossible romance, which can be the only obstacle to his revenge.
